It's too bad that their lives were wasted in useless wars to support the military industrial complex and the global corporate oligarchy.

We still do not have freedom from tyranny. In fact, things are getting worse!

Instead of worshiping veterans in the guise of false patriotism, we ought to venerate meritorious men who stood on principles and genuine statesmen who found moral courage to resist evil in all its ugly forms!

Pyra, although I do agree with many of your comments, I feel we should still honour those who served.
They did what they felt was right. They stood up and were counted.
Sometimes the powers that be, are misguided and misdirect us. But I think that anyone that is willing to fight and die for their country deserves respect.

Only time will tell, if their actions were in vain or futile.

Every year on 11th Nov, I go with my two boys to the War Memorial, and spend a few moments thinking of the sacrifice these people made.

I hope that they never have to go through what so many people did.
