CHASTITY BELT DESIGNS: (4 main styles)
#1 FLORENTINE STYLE: has a straight waistband, front shield with rear chains that go up butt crack and then whye out to attach to the rear of the waistband. This style looks like an "athletic supporter" in style. The "florentine style" is the most historically accurate chastity belt, there is one in a museum somewhere made of icky old rusty iron. Many say the florentine style is the most comfy. You be the judge of that.
#2 ACTIVE STYLE: can have any of the three waistband styles, usually a front shield and secondary shield that a coated cable attaches to at the bottom. This cable then goes up the butt crack like thong underwear and attaches directly to the rear center of the waistband. Some say these are very comfy, some say the cable rubs their tailbones raw. IF YOU CANNOT STAND THONG PANTIES...then do not get an active style chastity belt.
#3 SOLID STRAP: can have any of the three waistband styles, has a front shield and usually a long secondary shield that connects to the rear center of the waistband. This style chastity belt has a solid strap of metal that widens out around the anus and has a hole for you to poop through. Some styles use a pair of thick metal rods that come down and encircle the anus area, but all of these are one solid piece that goes through the crotch to the front center at the waistband. This style chastity belt is the strongest design, most rigid, and has the least amount of pinch points. Main pinch point on this style belt is between the anus ring metal and your buttcheek when you sit down on something hard.
#4 CROTCH BAR, "slit rod", "gash bar" etc.: Minimalist chastity design that has a crescent shaped rod (or very thin bar) that goes from just behind the anus up to just above the clitoris with each end having a O-ring attached so chains or rope or belting can be attached. Often this style has moveable posts with large stainless steel balls attached to the stems about 1 1/2" up, one goes in the vagina and the other in the ass. Some only have the vagina ball. Either way, with one ball on a rod, it can be slid down to either fill the anus or the vagina. These chastity devices absolutely do not prevent a woman from masturbating, but they are 100% effective in stopping penetration of whatever hole is filled. A crotch bar/ slit rod is often locked with chain at the waist. Variations on this design include small crescent plates instead of rods with balls attached, that fulfill same purpose: they get in the way of any meaningful penetration.
Waistband: (3 main styles): The thing that goes around your waist...which has some OTHER terms that go with that...
#1 Straight waistband: is a straight hoop that encircles you at your HIGH WAIST
#2 Ergonomic waistband: is a waistband that droops down at the front center and rear center about 2-3 inches and has high points directly above hip bones. More comfortable to wear and easier to bend over. Waistband only has curve in two dimensions: up and down and around
#3 SUPER ergonomic (3-D design): waistband bends in 3 dimensions: up and down, around you, and has the bottom of the waistband cast outward from the top of the band so it sits closer to the hip bone and rides tighter due to traction on the solid points without causing a dig in point. This style also droops down in front center and rear center a few inches. Makers have different pattern amounts. These belts cost the most and are supposedly the most comfortable for permanent wearability.
-->front center: measuring point directly in your front, usually at bellybutton, dividing you in half exactly vertically.
-->Rear center: Exactly 180 degrees from front center, usually over the center of your spine. Most chastity belt measurements go to this point. When you measure, you need these to be right. Rear chains are often equidistant from rear center, like 3 inches, or whatever.
-->Center of hip: usually 90 degrees from front center, but sometimes can be cast forward. Good measurement to know if you are getting a tight belt that will ride close, as this point is the hard radius around from front to back on the waistband. This measurement is taken off of front center, or rear center. (if you add both of those up, you ought to have exactly ONE HALF of your waist circumference)
"HIGH WAIST": This is the point midway between your lowest rib and the top of your hip bone. Straight waistbands sit at this location. Often, your high waist is either right above your belly button, directly on it and just a fuzz below.
"HIP" We all know this measurement. Its the fullest part of our hips. This measurement is needed for some fancy new models of chastity belts that ride on the hip line rather than waistline. (I would not think that style as secure as a waistline belt)
Front Shield: The metal part that runs from the waistband down through the crotch stopping at the center of the perineum. (or "taint" in slang) On a solid rear strap model, front shield goes from front center down and around up to rear center. (Also called the primary shield, main shield)
--> Convex: the shaping of the front shield that surrounds the vulva part of your anatomy. Makes the front shield fit closer and causes your soft flesh to squish to the center of the front shield rather than squish out to sides. This makes getting fingers under there much harder because you have to fight your own flesh in the way to get to the happy parts.
--> Slot: vertical slot with a round hole at the top (looks like an upside down old fashioned thermometer in profile). This slot is to slide vagina insertable attachments into via groove in stem of insert that "locks" into the slot of the front shield, supposedly making everything rigid. "Long slot" goes from about an inch above the top of your slit all the way down to just a little beyond the dead center of your vagina as you are wearing the front shield. "Short slot" the round hole at top is just about centered over your clitoris and goes down to same spot as a long slot. "short slot" tend to pinch your clitoris if you have a pronounced one. Consider this a potential pinch point.
--> Urine holes: Some front shields do not have slots, but a line of closely spaced holes at the bottom so you can pee through. My-Steel calls their slotless front shield a "straightline" (I think these look nice because there is zero bulkiness to the front of this style) Yes, this is how you go to bathroom. You pee through the front shield; the urine drains out of these little holes. Be sure to use lots of toilet paper and blot over the holes. Yes, you will not get ALL of the urine off your girl parts. This is why it is ESSENTIAL to shower at LEAST once a day. Two times per day is much better. Always wear a panty liner if in chastity belt. Why? You will figure that out pretty quickly first time you go pee through the front shield of your chastity belt.
Secondary shield: (auxiliary shield, small shield, lock on shield): Another shield often attached permanently to active style and florentine style belts that locks to front shield via T-post and has a little padlock that locks it to a locking post on the upper part of the front shield. Another purpose of this secondary shield is to cover up the slot in the front shield so a woman cannot get a finger tip in there and tickle herself, and also to keep her from squishing her labia that protrude from this slot when she sits down or from her jeans as she walks. If the mating between secondary shield and front shield are not very tight and close, this is the #1 PINCH POINT you will get on a chastity belt. Secondary shields come in two lengths: Long and short. LONG style go all the way up to the waistband lock, short style stop about in the middle of the front shield and then have a padlock that attaches it to a locking post there.
REAR SHIELD This is either a pear shaped plate or a strap with a slot in it to deny access to the anus. Rear shields attach to the front shield on a solid strap style belt, or they attach to the secondary shield on a florentine style belt and lock to a D-ring on the rear center of the waistband. If you have an active style belt, then a rear shield is not required, often an anus plug will lock to the rear cable of the active style belt.
PINCH POINT Any place where your skin gets where it is not supposed to be and you receive a blood blister or cut from a hard edge squishing you into a hard surface. Three main pinch points on womens belts are the secondary to front shield joint, the anus ring on a solid rear strap design, and the joint between the stem of a vagina insert to the front shield slot. (that little corner in there, one slide and you get pinched ugly bad)
STINK POINT Any place on a chastity belt that is hard to clean or a recessed place that collects body fluids and is hard to clean out or wipe off. Often, "stink points" are like the open links of a florentine at the bottom of the front shield, the surface of the front shield and liner that has pulled away a bit and allowed urine to get between the liner and metal, or between the front and secondary shields that have urine holes. These are very hard to wipe clean after going pee because you just cannot get to them with paper. Often a hot shower with detachable jet head can blast these clean, but it is better to get un-belted every few days and take apart all parts of the belt and give them a thorough cleaning with warm water and antimicrobial soap. Many manufacturers say you cannot put parts in dishwashers to sanitize because the steam and heat will cause the glue to loosen and your rubber liner will separate from your stainless steel belt.
LINER Chastity belts usually are lined with neoprene, medical grade silicone (these are very soft and sticky feeling) or some crazy hybrid rubber stuff I cannot pronounce. Liners have special glues that bond these materials to stainless steel. Good luck trying to find a glue that will glue these back if you pull yours away. Often it is best to return your chastity belt to the manufacturer, cry some and pay lots of money to have them strip and re-line your belt. If you paid hundreds of dollars for a chastity belt you wear 24/7/365, consider your liner to be a consumable element of your belt. IT will need to be replaced eventually, so start saving now. LOL
